Thoughts from the Dirty City

I’m no great photographer by any stretch, but it seems that when I spend time taking pictures it feeds the creativity in all the other parts of my life. Not to mention there is just something wonderful in the instant gratification of photography. And nothing tops getting a great shot that completely captures a moment…or someone you really care about. Having said all that…why am I so shy about busting out my camera?

1. motivation. mainly for my art (and the confidence to call it that without feeling like a douche)

2. laughter. you know – the kind that takes over your whole body and makes your tummy ache and your eyes water

3. to get over all my stupid fears that hold me back from trying new things

4. organization. perhaps if I could find a bit more order my time wouldn’t feel so thinly spread

5. sleep. I don’t feel like I ever really get enough

6. vacation. (and not just time off. a real trip or something closely resembling one)

7. adventure. this probably could be tied into getting over my stupid fears, but my life feels like it could really use a heavy dose of adventure

8. Waking up and looking forward to going to work. I want to have a job that I love as much as weekends.

9. hugs. cause there can never really be enough

10. a puppy. I love love love the puppies, but my life isn’t really set up to properly care for one right now. soon though!
